Mandalay, Myanmar

By the time Jamie and I got to Mandalay, we were both exhausted. At this point we were four solid months into our trip and it had started to wear on us both. My stomach was still on the fritz, but much more manageable than it had been in Vietnam and Cambodia. Overall, we used our time in Mandalay, to chill at the hotel and check out two or three things.

  • U Bien Bridge – Checking out the oldest and longest teak bridge was fun and slightly nerve-wracking. You could see where the new boards had been placed, but where old boards needed to be replaced.
  • the world’s largest book – It is actually the Kuthodaw Pagoda, and each temple is filled with a “page” written on stone.
